Further on this, I forgot to mention that we have 'Active Directory' enabled
in our network. We have already selectd Basic Authentication in
Authentication methods. The 'Global Catalog server' serving the domain
main.burgan.bnk is authenticating the users.

Make sure you have "plain text" (Basic) authentication enabled on the OWA

server. The default is NTLM which does not work via HTTP proxies,

including Squid as a reverse proxy.
