We are planning to make a tool to give capacity planning to SQUID.
Objective of tool:
1. Based on number of users, hardware + squid configuration will be
suggested.
2. Based on hardware configuration ( HDD, RAM, CPU),
1. number of users can be serviced from squid
2. updation needed on hardware to reach required users count
Using polygraph benchmark tool, we are getting number of req / sec
satisfaction on squid cache server ( 2.5, 3.0 ). We are
preparing metrics for designed hardware set ( CPU, HDD, RAM).
I hope some of us may be done benchmarking on squid-2.5, 3.0 in
different hardware setups. So that, We are need in of
prepared req / sec rate satisfaction, hardware configuration, squid
configuration tunning, linux tunning details to make metrics.
Based on calculated metrics, We are planning to make GUI to get
capacity planning.
