I moved from our FBSD 4.10 baseline to 5.2.1 due to the thread problems, and it's worked great under 5.2.1. It's been inserted as a transparent gw by enabling forwarding for all lan segments, and then hijacking port 80 traffic up to squid on 3128.

You're correct. There is no support for ReiserFS on FreeBSD.
