The configure option is pointless if you do not first patch Squid.
then ran the 'rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/squid.spec' It built the RPM fine. When installed the RPM and restarted squid, I now get the following error:

You have not included the patch in your Squid build.
