how can I do a checksum of the file to see if it match the one on the site
? (but if I have the wrong file I'm not suppose to be able to do a gunzip
right ?)
gunzip does not always detect errors.
the MD5 sum of the gzipped tar file can be found from
www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v3/3.0/
The MD5 of the gunzipped tar file is:
9a40da1727d4d10dddc94585d6b963cd squid-3.0-PRE3-20050629.tar
both assuming it was the tarball from the 3.0 directory you downloaded,
not HEAD, the MD5s of HEAD is different even if the content is the same..
(a few seconds difference in release date only).
