The following is the script I use, hope it can do you some help.
Simply create a file named 'squid.sh' (or any other name you like) in
path '/usr/local/etc/rc.d', copy the script content in it, save,
change mode to 755, that's all. :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#!/bin/sh

# if ! PREFIX=$(expr $0 : "\(/.*\)/etc/rc\.d/$(basename $0)\$"); then
# echo "$0: Cannot determine the PREFIX" >&2
#     exit 1
# fi

case "$1" in
start)
    if [ -x /usr/local/squid/sbin/squid -a -f
/usr/local/squid/etc/squid.conf ]; then
    (cd /usr/local/squid; /usr/local/squid/sbin/squid >/dev/null 2>&1
&) ; echo 'Starting cache service. '
    fi
    ;;
stop)
        /usr/local/squid/sbin/squid -k shutdown 2>&1
        # Uncomment this if you'd like the system to (attempt to
        # wait for) squid to shut down cleanly
        #echo "Sleeping for 45 seconds to allow cache service to shutdown.."
        #sleep 45
    ;;
*)
    echo "Usage: `basename $0` {start|stop}" >&2
    ;;
esac

exit 0
