Many Squid 3 squid.conf directive are changed, you should look into squid.conf.default and create a NEW squid.conf.

Please don't forget that Squid 3.0 is still a DEVELOPMENT version,
of course ... so's my setup! i'm just willing/able to invest the time to look-forward a bit now.
without the code quality of 2.5.
