 M.
I am already rotating my log file 4 times a day.
Could I instruct squid to not log certain requests perhaps?

it appears that my access.log did indeed grow over 2Gb which ext3 cannot handle. I suspect that the ff hits to my proxy are causing teh file to grow too large.
