What OS are you running? If RedHat/Fedora, then perhaps SELINUX is active preventing Squid from accessing the directory. If SuSe, then perhaps Apparmor is doing the same... Or perhaps cache_effective_user is the problem. Are you really sure your Squid is caching fine, and not only caching in memory? Regards Henrik
