The cache_dir type. Look into replacing it with aufs, to "avoid
blocking the main Squid process on disk-I/O."

Done.

Another pitfall is the small amount of
memory the server has, and the large size of the disk cache. See
http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/SquidMemory#head-09818ad4cb8a1dfea1f51688c41bdf4b79a69991
for more details.

Let me make sure I am figuring correctly:

((cache size)*10 + cache_mem + 20MB)*2 = Recommended system memory

so for my cache_dir (20MB) and cache_mem (8MB) sizes:

((20)*10 + 8 + 20)*2 = 456 or 512MB

I have 1GB on order so that should resolve memory issues I would think.

Thanks for the help.
