Hi all,

I'm having a problem with SQuid start up, let me start by this. My production
machine is working on a Fedora Core 4 64 bit with Squid-2.5.STABLE13,
everything is working smooth including the autostart (I just add "squid start"
on /etc/rc.d/rc.local). Now Im having a problem I have tried to install
Squid-2.6.Stable9 to both FC4 and FC6 with "start squid" on the
/etc/rc.d/rc.local but it cannot start Squid on boot up. I'm not not programmer
and I don't know how to create a script. Can you help me on this.

Thanks a lot,

Wennie

Try prefacing "squid start" with the path to the Squid binary. For example, "/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid start".

An other option would be to grab the Fedora Squid RPM and install it. It will include a startup script (found at /etc/init.d/squid).
