I'll see whether I need to adapt the ICAP patch further (i.e. I screwed the merge from Squid-2-HEAD to Squid-2.6). It's possible, however, that the ICAP client is buggy in this respect. I just learned that its use is not encouraged on Squid-2 by the developers.
