I am just a Squid beginner.
In your situation ( sorry about ) I thought it would not matter
to suggest you to take a look at
http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.6/cfgman/quick_abort_min.html.
If it does not help it won't hurt, right? ( I think ).
