Hello,
I have a dial-up connection and am using squid as a proxy. The
connection is fast. But squid is not stable and it disconnect most of
the time.
Squid CANNOT disconnect a network link. Your dial-up is probably
unstable or configured with a sleep disconnect most are by default.
In fact after the authentication popup page comes up and you
click OK you get a "The page cannot be displayed" page.
What squid version? What error number? any other details provided as to
WHY the page was not available?
Can you please tell me if the it is because of squid and dial-up or is
it because of my connection not being stable?
Your unstable connection is causing it. The link should not be unstable
though, dial-up is old tech.
It works fine when I am not on dial-up.
Big hint there to whats causing the problem.
