Give it a try. "squid -k parse" the config file with 3.1, anything
saying ERROR or FATAL will prevent it. You should be able to ignore the
WARNING (there will usually be many), since they are things squid 3.1
can cope with and upgrade automatically when it has to (not good
long-term, but for testing is okay).
