Here is this morning's attempt at starting squid...first cache.log and then
messages. This is the host where squid host that was working for few weeks, and
I think a "yum update" added something into the mix. I am not so sure this is a
IPv6 issue, actually. Any advice appreciated.

This is the kernel / syslog trace of what the kernel sees happening. You need
to look in squid cache.log for the Squid debug messages.
