Setting the following did indeed fix it.
access_log stdio:/var/log/squid/access.log squid
Any idea yet as to what release we should expect to see the fix for the new
daemon log module?
It is now in the 3.2 daily snapshots (r11740 or later) so is almost
certain to be in 3.2.6.
