AMOS !! 3 free beers and surf lesson next time you are in South Florida .. sure enough, i switched to some already "allowed" ports by selinux, and that seems to fix the issue ..
squid_port_t tcp 3401, 4827 now using 3401 for http_port, and 4827 for https_port .. thanks for the help !! greg
