+nastysite.com
+anothernastysite.com
... would go in <domains.diff>.

+nastysite.com/suzieq
+anothernastysite.com/images/bertha
... would go in <urls.diff>.

Then:
<squidGuard -u>
<squid -k reconfigure>

When you test the site, make sure you clear your browser's local cache
(or simply hit reload).

You mentioned that "everything seems to go okay"; what did the
squidGuard log indicate? It is very helpful in determining what has gone
right, or gone wrong.

Let us know what you find.

Subject: Adding urls to db

I am trying to add some sites to the blacklists database for blocking.
I put the urls into a diff file with this format:

+nastysite.com
+anothernastysite.com

and save it as urls.diff in teh blacklists/porn directory. I issue
"squidGuard -d -u" command, and everything seems to go okay, but after
restarting squid, the sites are not blocked. If I grep the porn
directory, the sites are listed in the urls & domains.

Am I going about this the wrong way, or have I missed a step?

thx,
