I think you are saying that /usr/local/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf
does not exist.

The squidGuard installation page
<http://www.squidguard.org/install/> points out in item # 8 that
creating the configuration file is your responsibility.

Make sure all of your squid directories and associated files have
the same owner:group as is listed in your squid.conf file for:
cache_effective_user
cache_effective_group
(That will probably be squid:squid.)

Hope that helps.

Subject: no config and log file.

Dear all,
I compiled squidguard without any problem, but after
running all commands(./configure,make,make install)
in default address
(/usr/local/squidGuard/log/squidGuard.log,/usr/local/squidGuard/squi
dGuard.conf)
there is not anything.
and when I run squidGuard I get the error

can't write to logfile
/usr/local/squidGuard/log/squidGuard.log
can't open usr/local/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf
going into emergency mode...

if anybody has an idea please respond me .

regards
Atieh M.Ghazi
