Rick, I'am building a system that retrieves all known blacklists for squidGuard and put them into a database. The next step will be to create a script which will pore the entries from the database and will make one blacklist out of it. I'am willing to make the entries in the database available to the public.
This project will only continue if we get new entries. I'am also setting up the robot and will build a sql backend to it, so that there will be one source for the database. I also use the latest adult.tar.gz file from the Universit Toulouse in France (Seems to be updated daily). See http://cri.univ-tlse1.fr/documentations/cache/squidguard_en.html for info. Their file is available here: ftp://ftp.univ-tlse1.fr/pub/reseau/cache/squidguard_contrib/adult.ta r.gz I have a script that retrieves both blacklists, combines them and removes duplications, if you are interested. The squidGuard porn domains file grew by 35,750 entries from 2/15 to 2/22, so its not as incomplete as it was a week ago. The squidGuard blacklist has been unreliable over time, with large blocks of entries suddenly dropping off (even though the sites were still up), and now large blocks of entries suddenly appearing. Last fall we went almost 90 days without a single update, and there's never an answer to email or to questions posed here about the "making of the blacklist". I would be interested in paying for a reliable subscription service, and I mentioned that here last fall. I found that only one or two here were interested. Please let me know if you come up with something. Although this is a very nice list it is not complete. There are many sites that aren't updated on this list. So my question is: 1) If you want to have more complete lists where you can get them? Are they for sale? 2) SquidGuard is very very fast and handy though solutions as SmartFilter seems to have more updated lists. What do you guys do to resolve this issue? best regards, BTW. ... I always knew that the problem setting this service will be the lists =))) ----------------------------------------------- Ing.
