Subject: problem with squidguard

Hi,

I just installed RedHat 7.2 with Squid as the proxyserver daemon.

I downloaded db-2.7.7, compiled and installed it, everything looked
fine.

Then I download squidGuard-1.2.0, configured it - no special options -
compiled it and installed it - fine.

If I run suidGuard from the command-line I do not receive any
error-messages. If I run

    squidGuard -C <path_to_domain-text-file> I do'nt get any errors, but
I also don't get any .db file.

running squid with the redirector_program squidGuard works fine until I
try to connect to a domain which is included in the
domain_lsit-text_file. No reaction by squidGuard, nothing to be seen in
the logfile.

Could this be because of the missing .db file? How can I debug my
problem? Any hints.

I read the FAQ but couldn't find somthing similar - the rights for the
file are ok fpr user "squid", I use the default config-file i.e.
/usr/local/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf, the logfile and dbhome are
default too.

Please let me konow if you can imagine what my fault is or where to look
further.

Thanks a lot and best regards

Peter Barth
