I have a couple of questions can I log usernames
that hit a blocked site? I tried specifying users as
part of a source group to see if that would log,
however I was unsucessful. I would like to know if
anyone has done ident lookups on novell user accounts,
and if so are they reported as username.context or
just username. My final question is about log
rotation. I attempted to add access.log and store.log
to my newsyslog.conf file (linux). Newsyslog.conf
would rotate the log but squid wouldn't continue to
access it after it was rotated. I made sure newsyslog
preserved the log attributes and userid. I know that
you can specify a manual rotation of the log with
squid -k rotate, but is it possible to use that script
before newsyslog.conf to enable a successful rotation.
Maybe a simple cron script would be better suited.
