I did have some success with the debug command in the FAQ; su-2.03# echo "http://porn.com 10.0.0.1/- - GET" | /usr/local/bin/squidGuard -c /usr/local/etc/squid/squidGuard.conf -d 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] init domainlist /var/db/squidGuard/porn/domains 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] loading dbfile /var/db/squidGuard/porn/domains.db 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] init urllist /var/db/squidGuard/porn/urls 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] loading dbfile /var/db/squidGuard/porn/urls.db 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] init expressionlist /var/db/squidGuard/porn/expressions 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] init domainlist /var/db/squidGuard/ads/domains 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] loading dbfile /var/db/squidGuard/ads/domains.db 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] init urllist /var/db/squidGuard/ads/urls 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] loading dbfile /var/db/squidGuard/ads/urls.db 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] squidGuard 1.2.0 started (1017784621.947) 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] squidGuard ready for requests (1017784621.955) http://192.168.1.1 10.0.0.1/- - GET 2002-04-02 16:57:01 [671] squidGuard stopped (1017784621.979)
which redirected to 192.168.1.1 but I ran that process as root. Still the blocking does not happen from the browser however.
