I have a problem that seems like it should be fairly straightforward to solve, but have been unable to find an easy solution to. That is, I want to block certain sites, by sending them to a website, but then I want that website to be a warning, and if the user chooses, be able to follow a link and visit the site anyway. (because for a while at least, I don't trust the canned filter lists, and so we will just watch the log files). I am using SquidGuard as a transparent proxy on a bridge computer running as a firewall.
I thought of doing something with PHP using the include() statement to pass the blocked website, assuming the machine that SquidGuard runs on can access the sites, but if I do that, I don't know an easy way for the images to be passed. So I have two questions. Can the machine that SquidGuard runs on access the blocked sites, or does everything even on that machine run thru SquidGuard, and second, does anyone have an solution to a problem like this? Thanks.
