I solved my problem by loading berkely 3.2.9 and converting squidguard
domain/url files into .db files. Not only does it work, but there is no
more downtime if squidguard fails and it is so fast now!

Hi, I had another situation. SquidGuard wouldn`t start no matter how
I tried to reload Squid. Finally I tried "killall -9 squid" with
/etc/rc.d/squid start and it was the only combination that worked for
me.

Tomasz.
