Celebration of New Bike/Ped Bridge to Berkeley Marina Saturday, March 2nd 11:30am-? FREE ----> Event Description <----------------------------------------------- At last, bikers and walkers are reconnected to the Berkeley Marina! A beautiful new bridge is opening this week, and Saturday should be a beautiful day for a celebration picnic. See www.bfbc.org for up-to-date pictures of this sparkling aqua blue beauty. We'll meet at Celia's Mexican Restaurant at 11:30am to decorate our bikes, parade across the bridge, then dedicate the bridge, eat lunch (bring your own) and birthday cake, and enjoy the marina and view of the new bridge while taking off for some fun bike rides. Two volunteers are organizing rides after the bridge crossing- one will explore the Bay Trail north while the other will head south. Please bring your picnic blanket, lunch, and party supplies if you have 'em, including bike decorations, noise makers, bright, flashy things, etc. A pedal-powered sound system will provide party tunes for our celebration.
