New Langton Arts, in collaboration with Galer�a de la Raza, the Poetry Center at San Francisco State University and Small Press Traffic, presents an intimate salon of poetry and conversation tackling the challenges of culture in translation. The salon is part of a weekend of events to celebrate the publication of a new anthology highlighting the work of emerging Mexican women poets. Three bilingual, bi-cultural events at different sites throughout San Francisco offer the Bay Area poetry community a rare opportunity to engage in conversation with two Mexico-based poets, Dolores Dorantes and Laura Sol�rzano, featured in Sin puertas visibles: An Anthology of Contemporary Poetry by Mexican Women (2003). The book�s translator and editor, Jen Hofer, serves as discussion moderator and impromptu translator. The poetry salon is Sunday April 25 at 8 pm, at the home of poet Camille Roy. Directions are provided with reservation. Other events include a panel discussion at San Francisco State University on Thursday, April 22 at 4:30 pm; and a reading and reception at Galer�a de la Raza on Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 pm.
