The Delmonic Interviews!
Directed and produced by Jeff Pacocha & Cesar Jaime, The Delmonic Interviews spawned from a simple, yet sentimental, idea to try to come up with something that could help preserve Del Closes legacy. With the help of the ImprovOlympic theaters founder, Charna Halpern, what was originally to be a short video montage tribute to Del, turned into a educational, fun filled cross-country journey to the homes and workplaces of Dels old friends, colleagues, and students, who were more than willing to contribute to this project. Del Close, an improvisational comedian who was the behind-the-scenes mentor of many of todays -and past comedians, quietly past away March 4, of 1999.
By inspiring and influencing the minds and work of people like John Belushi, Chris Farley, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Mike Myers, and countless other comedians and actors, Del Close has left -and continues to leave- his signature on todays comedic world of entertainment.
In The Delmonic Interviews, the directors have chosen to initiate a project that documents and shows some of those influences, while at the same time providing a glimpse at the poet behind the Improvisor, behind the comedian, behind the actor, behind the person, that was Del Close. Running Time. 60 mins.
