SAN FRANCISCO, CA Secrets! Lies! Blackmail! Murder! Whats a body to do? Join in the original farce whodunit cocktail party turned multiple homicides that will leave you guessing! CLUE: the Play is the stage adaptation of the cult movie classic written by Jonathan Lynn, which is the film adaptation of the popular Parker Bros board game, featuring six suspicious characters, six deadly weapons and nine sinister rooms.
On a dark and stormy evening in late 1954, amidst the intrigue and paranoia of the McCarthy era, Wadsworth the butler, and Yvette the maid, welcome six politically-vulnerable and pseudonym-ed guests (Col. Mustard, Mrs. White, Ms. Scarlet, Prof. Plum, Mr. Green and Mrs. Peacock) to a swanky mansion for a mysterious cocktail party. Wadsworth reveals that they have all been gathered to confront their blackmailer, the enigmatic Mr. Body. A shot in the dark and Mr. Bodys body leave them all with a new problem; they must discover which one of them is the killer before the police arrive! So now, to protect their reputations and prevent the body count from rising, they must work together to find the answer to those three burning questions: Who did it? Where? And with what? Now its your turn to take a stab in the dark to predict the murderer. Come see the show and cast your vote on the mystery ending. We promise one killer evening.
CLUE: the Play runs Fridays and Saturdays @ 8pm, May 28, & 29, and June 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 & 19 at the Dark Room, 2263 Mission Street, SF, between 18th and 19th.
CLUE: the Play is an Impossible Production, directed by Cameron Eng & Jim Fourniadis and produced by Erin Ohanneson & Cameron Eng, and stars: Jack Daniel, Maura Silipa, John Smith, Nancy Bower, Dave McKew, Sean McGinn, Jacinta Tobin, Peter Doty, David Robson, George Crawford and Micah Pilkington.
IMPOSSIBLE PRODUCTIONS, and our new home The Dark Room, is a comfortable place for anyone to come to when they have ideasbig or smalland nowhere to realize them. We're a tad more off-beat than community theatre and a skosh more accessible than many artist cooperatives. We welcome both high concepts and low brow sensibilities; we try hard to not to take ourselves too seriously and invite you to do the same. Come join us for an hour or two and forget for a minute how troublesome the world can be. We're saving a seat for you.
