The Poetry of Exiles: Art is Permitted Everywhere is hosting a public poetry reading to tribute the great Russian bard Anna Ackmatova. The theme will be exile in political times: exile from your homeland, your body, your lover, your government, your country, your culture. This reading will tribute the life of the great russian bard who was thrown out of her homeland for subversive political activities. Readers encouraged to read Ackmatova or personal readings/writing on exile. Political Poetry encouraged and applauded. Bring wine, food, spirits. Reading accompanied by high tea with Simran. Reading will take place in center of Washington Park. Readers TBA on website.
