Join us for a reading by award-winning poets Ellen Bass and Robert Sward. Her most recent book of poetry, Mules of Love, was published by BOA Editions and won the 2002 Lambda Literary Award for poetry. In 1973, she co-edited the groundbreaking book, No More Masks!: An Anthology of Poems by Women and has published four previous volumes of poetry. She lives in Santa Cruz, CA where she jas taught creative writing since 1974.
Sward has taught at Cornell University, the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop, and UC Santa Cruz. His 18 books include Heavenly Sex; Rosicrusian in the Basement, from Black Moss Press, and Four Incarnations (Coffee House Press). Widely published by traditional literary magazines and anthologies, Sward also serves as contributing editoor to Alsop Review and Blue Moon Review. His Collected Poems 1957-2004 will be published later this year.
A free event, Poets Pulling Prints is an ongoing Center series celebrating poetry aloud and in print, funded in part by Poets & Writers. Signed letterpress broadsides will be available.
