Originally hailing from New Orleans itself, The Gomorran Social Aid and Pleasure Club, a six piece good time - junkyard cabaret - hot jazz -hobo psychedelic - drunken revival day - trash can lid gospel- of-sinners group, are preaching the holy gospel of sin brothers and sisters. Each blaring stab of the trombone, each sweet clarinet cadenza, reverberates with sin, bouncing off the sinful walls and into your sinful ears. Maybe as you hear it, you'll be able to let all your devilish guilt and meanness out of your heart. You'll be able to let your heart go free and raise a glass with your brethren. Can I get an amen? Can I get a Salud? L'chiam! Proost! Hallelujah! Wink Pain is the devil dealing alter ego of Freddi Price, band member of the internationally infamous Rube Waddell. Some have proclaimed Wink as a local treasure, others compare his delta inspired crooning to an alley cat on a tear. With a gravely pair of bluesy pipes and a steel guitar slung low, Wink Pain will take you on a ride down some true blue veined American byways and backwaters. Blue Roots, fronted by trumpeteer and multi instrumentalist Lesch Worzinski, is a true to form tub-bass-thumpin'-washboard-scratching- jug-band. Playing all manners and styles of music from old timey to jazz to originals, Blue Roots reverts music back to it's irreverent sources where playing songs was more about what's handy than what instrument is in your hand. But don't mistake Blue Roots for some neo- retro pastiche; these are serious accomplished musicians who believe that to 'jug or not' is in fact the question. What!?
