Thrillpeddlers presents Shocktoberfest 2005: "Sissies Stay Home!" Showcases acts inspired by the infamous Theatre du Grand Guignol of Paris, American spook shows, as well as brand new and recently re- discovered fetish-shockers never before seen on the American stage. As an added attraction during Halloween weekend (Oct 29, 30, 31), Thrillpeddlers welcomes mysterious chanteuse Jill Tracy and The Malcontent Orchestra to host a cavalcade of diabolical delights featuring signature pieces from Shocktoberfest!! 2005, New York City's mad musical scientist Thomas Truax (playing his unusual inventions and mechanical sound sculptures like the Hornicator and Sister Spinster), mentalist Bob Taxin, Czar of Noir Eddie Muller, vintage Spook Show, and a real working 1792 guillotine! Two shows nightly. Costumes admired but not required! ----/ Venue Info /------------------------------------------------------ The Hypnodrome 575 10th Street San Francisco 415-248-1900 The Hypnodrome is an elaborately designed venue in San Francisco's SOMA district, boasting the now-infamous "Shock Box" seats, private booths for couples ala William Castle, which offer added attractions and devices for those who dare. There is even a "lights-out" Spook Show finale, when the entire Hypnodrome is plunged into total darkness and transformed into a glowing chasm of swirling spirits and unearthly sounds. The arrow of the "One Tree" One-Way mural at 10th and Bryant points directly at The Hypnodrome.
