----/ Event Description /-----------------------------------------------

Year of the Dog: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac, Author Reading and
Demonstration at the Education Studio:
Listen to author Oliver Chin as he reads from his book Year of the
Dog in which a puppy learns how to become "man's best friend." This
entertaining story provides a great introduction to the 2006 Chinese
New Year through the adventures of the dog Daniel and the girl Lin.
Follow along as Oliver leads visitors through the meaning of the
lunar calendar. Then color your own zodiac animals from the fantastic
illustrations in the book and do other art projects in celebration of
this canine year.

This event is one in a series of the Asian Art Museum's Book Nook
Family Programs, which include author readings, book signings and
activities for kids and their families. Explore vibrant places and
discover unique characters- let your child's imagination (and yours!)
run wild on a journey through words and pictures with local authors.
