Friction
Saturday, January 14
9:00pm-2:00am
$5 before 10pm or in appropriate attire; $7 otherwise
----/ Event Description /-----------------------------------------------
We believe Friction has gotten a bad rap.
Just look in any thesaurus:
> Friction. A lack of agreement; disharmony.
> Synonyms: conflict, discord, dissent, animosity, discontent,
> opposition, static, strife, trouble, variance
True, I'm sure we've all had the experience of someone rubbing us
the wrong way.
Tonight, though, let's put all that behind us and celebrate a very
different encounter with Friction:
Namely, the experience of being rubbed in a *very* right way.
If you've spent any time at all investigating this most underrated of
physical forces, you've no doubt discovered that the simple mechanics
of one thing rubbing against another is barely the beginning when it
comes to Friction. Once you take surfaces and textures into account,
the possibilities are endless!
Or as Wikipedia puts it, "the coefficient of Friction depends on the
materials used."
(Oddly enough, Wikipedia fails to take this opportunity to list a few
of *my* favorite, friction-friendly materials: latex, leather, nylon,
silk, fur, metal, mesh, PVC, argyle [ok, so I'm old school] -- and,
of course, good old skin.)
Even better, to again quote those hard-working Wikis: "The
coefficient of Friction is an empirical measurement -- it cannot be
found through calculations, but instead must be measured
experimentally."
In other words, Friction is *not* a passive experience.
Never fear, however, because "according to the law of conservation of
energy, no energy should be lost due to Friction." So even though the
club may wind down at 2:00, you'll still have the rest of the night
during which to continue your experiments with Friction.
Not to mention a crew of enthusiastic lab partners.
=====================================================================
Please join us for the debut of Friction, the monthly fetish club
that rubs you the right way, second Saturdays at Club Hide.
Friction looks to offer an unparalleled selection of DJs and (as we
grow) the finest in erotic art and performance in a celebration of
the wonderful chaos that is human sexuality, from seductive to
shocking, from sensuous to lewd, to which all are welcomed.
Friction: Because things heat up if you rub them enough.

A note on attire: Since Friction, as we noted, is *not* a passive
experience, appropriate attire is encouraged -- and financially
rewarded, as well. This is a time and a place to finally reveal
outside how one feels inside, no matter what that may be.
As always, it's hard to go wrong with goth or fetish wear, costumes,
uniforms, vintage clothing, or revealing or otherwise outwardly
sexual attire. However, as long as you feel that what you're wearing
is an outward manifestation of your sexuality, then we agree.
(Usual caveats apply: Genitals and [currently] female nipples must be
covered. While fetish/sexy/etc attire is not mandatory, organizers
and clubgoers reserve the right to snicker quietly at particularly
lame or uninspired attire.)
