Other Side of the Postcard, Latino Literature Today, and Crab Orchard
Review. Razor Edges of my Tongue, her chapbook of poetry, was published
by Calaca Press in 2002. She is currently the Executive Director for
Making Waves, a program that empowers youth of color to get college
bound.

Barbara Jane Reyes was born in Manila, Philippines, and raised in the
San Francisco Bay Area. She received her undergraduate education at UC
Berkeley and her MFA at SF State University. She has been widely
published in dozens of anthologies, journals, and magazines. Her first
book, Gravities of Center, was published by Arkipelago Books (SF,
2003). Her most recent book, poeta en san francisco (2005) has been
called a linguistic tour de force, incorporating English, Spanish, and
Tagalog in a book-length poem. Barbara was nominated for the 2005
Pushcart Prize and received the James Laughlin Award from the Academy
of American Poets in 2005.
