World beat band COPUS (Creation Of Peace Under the Stars) will be
performing in the Emergenza Festival international music competition
Semifinals to be held Sunday night, June 11, at the 12 Galaxies club
on Mission Street. For the first time since the Festival started 15
years ago in Italy, San Francisco has been included in the event that
'showcases the best unsigned bands in the world'. On any given
weekend night over a seven-month period of time, bands are performing
in 40 cities simultaneously from Kansas City to London, from Cannes
to Orlando. The San Francisco national finals will be held July 8 at
the Great American Music Hall with the winning band heading to
Rothenburg, Germany in August for the 3-day international finals
competition performances.
