Opens on Thursday, June 22 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Free ----/ Event Description /----------------------------------------------- GROUP ART EXHIBITION AND OPENING Nature Rules - a group exhibition of paintings, drawings & sculpture inspired by the natural world-at Creativity Explored, San Francisco's premiere gallery of artwork by artists with developmental disabilities. From the tiniest orbs of pollen to the towering crowns of redwood trees, artists from San Francisco's Creativity Explored investigate all things great and small in nature in a new exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculpture. Artists used microscopes and magnifiers to get up close and personal with natural objects. Loren King contributes a gorgeous and colorful abstract of pollen while Isagani Tanyag draws cross sections of trees. Raymond Tingley, an artist who uses repeat patterns in his work, contributes a meditation on rocks that brings out the subtle variations between like objects. Steven Geeter, a self-appointed "lover of leaves," displays a leaf press, which he decorated with hand-drawn illustrations.
