----/ The Squid List /-------------------------------------------------- The Cameltoe Show
Thursday, July 20th 8:00pm-10:00pm $10 ----/ Event Description /----------------------------------------------- Local up-and-coming comic Ali Wong will headline "The Cameltoe Show" with Samantha Chanse, Sherry Sirof and host Nico Santos on Thursday, July 20th, 2006 at the Purple Onion in San Francisco at 8pm. Wong blends her talent for dead-on impersonations with societal commentary, taking her audience into a world of pee-in-the-pants hilarity and truth. She imitates everyone from Rainbow grocery bitches to Mexicans who work at Panda Express, and audience members to name a few. Within only a year, she has attracted a large fan base that have praised her comedy as "rocking my world," "fucking hysterical," and "making me laugh in the middle of the street for days." Wong is very excited to headline her fourth production, celebrating a year in stand-up comedy. "I'm going to make everyone chant 'I've got cameltoe, in different area codes'," Wong said. "This show is about embracing the chunky, the brown, the putrid and the hairyhellipthrough pure laughter." Nico Santos, a rising star with his tales of Juicy Couture whores and fantasies of massages with awkward endings, is excited to host his second Ali Wong production. "I'm gay, but I love Ali Wong so much, that I would toss her labia salad." A stand-up comic, actress, playwright, and director at Kearny Street Workshop, Samantha Chanse is no stranger to the performing arts. In her all-black outfits, motorcycle gloves and dark makeup, Chanse intimidates audiences before launching into conversations on Craigslist misconnections and reflections on being bi-racial. A favorite at the Punchline and Cobb's, Sherry Sirof was selected to perform at the 2006 HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen. Her self-described style is very funny and a little sexy, like a queef. A blogger once wrote "Sirof combines a bubbly personality with a deadpan delivery." Sirof exclaimed "The Cameltoe Show has my panties in a bunch!" In August 2005, Wong started performing at open mics in San Francisco. Since then, she has become an institution in the San Francisco stand-up scene and Asian-American arts community. "The Cameltoe Show" will provide fans with a rare opportunity to see Wong perform a 45-minute set, of mostly new material and riffing. ----/ Venue Info /------------------------------------------------------ The Purple Onion 140 Columbus Ave. San Francisco ----/ Additional Info /------------------------------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.ALIWONG.com ----/ The Squid List Admin /--------------------------------------------- The Squid List, a tentacle of Laughing Squid http://laughingsquid.org/squidlist/ subscribe, unsubscribe, change your email address or change your subscription options: http://lists.laughingsquid.org/mailman/listinfo/squidlist/ Frequently Asked Questions & Submission Guidelines Squid List FAQ: http://laughingsquid.org/squidlist/faq.html The Squid List Online Calendar: http://laughingsquid.org/squidlist/calendar/ The Squid List RSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/squidlist ----/ Laughing Squid /-------------------------------------------------- Laughing Squid http://laughingsquid.com art, culture and technology from San Francisco and beyond Laughing Squid Web Hosting http://laughingsquid.net friendly, dependable and secure web hosting services for artists, individuals, bloggers, non-profits and small organizations The Squid List is licensed under a Creative Commons License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/
