Log in manually and try a command like this:

a001 XPROXY_VERSION

imapproxy will respond with its own version number if it is what is
getting your requests.

I don't really understand what you are asking. Your system architecture is
up to you, but I assume you'd want the answer to be "yes", otherwise I
don't understand why you installed it.
