You definitely need to get with the person responsible for setting up your
IMAP server, since it could be configured to store/check passwords in any
number of ways.  Ie., having MySQL does not necessarily mean that
passwords are stored there....  Is everything just a standard RH build
(all RPM's)?  You need to provide more info before someone can answer your
question.
