Hi. I have modified version .85 of the filters plugin that is included with 1.2.9, and have given it functionality for use with a server side filter program, such as maildrop.
In particular, since I currently use maildrop with mysql, I have written a module for the filters called maildrop_mysql which in particular is hooked in and usable for anyone using a virtual environment (in my case, postfix+mysql+courier imap+maildrop+spamasassin). With the way the filters have been modified, anybody should easily be able to write a module to add into the plugin that could be used for other setups, and if people want to give me feedback on it, I can update and modify as others find useful in their environment. In particular, right now the number of things the maildrop side can filter on is limited to "SPAM, To:, Subject: and From:". SPAM simply inserts a xfilter command and the required tag search in the .mailfilter file. I will greatly expand the flexibility of the interface depending upon people's thoughts. Warning: In order to use the maildrop_mysql module of this plugin, because of a quirk in maildrop that requires for security reasons only read/write access by the uid.gid of the user, I have to set the uid.gid of my virtual users to the user process as httpd (in my case apache). You will need to do the same to have this work properly. Once people think this plugin is stable enough, I am more than happy to check this into the squirrelmail plugin hierarchy for use generally. Right now I consider this to be beta, though all my users are using it fine! Please note it should be fairly easy to use the way I have coded this to add a module for procmail, for instance, or other server side filters. I will be happy to add these in to the repertoire of modules in the filters area. To check out my beta filter, please go to www.sunilactive.com and you can download the filter either in bzip2 or in gzip form. Cheers! Sunil p.s. PLEASE provide me with feedback. I just did this in a few hours last week and made some tweeks this morning. I'd love to get broader feedback. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf -- squirrelmail-users mailing list List Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users
