Actually, Squirrelmail in my case works like a *charm* with regard to
shared folders! They show up normally in the "Folders" page, and I can
subscribe to them. [There was only a minor issue with regard to sorting
the folder list, but I have posted a patch on the Sourceforge page. I'm
not sure if it has appeared on Squirrelmail.devel yet].
I'm not sure what you mean by "namespaces" and "personal namespace". I
am using Cyrus (2.1.x); user's folder "Mywork" looks like
user.avel.INBOX.Mywork to Cyrus and INBOX.Mywork to the user avel.
Shared folders outside the user.* tree, or "bulletin boards" as we call
them, appear normally in squirrelmail, like say Webmail.Announce or
Webmail.Users. I have even modified Squirrelmail's code to get
information from LDAP about these folders.
Our development team has actually made a web-based administrative tool
for Cyrus that allows a user to share his folders with others, place the
appropriate ACLs, and create bulletin boards - the equivalent of a
mailing list, implemented as an IMAP shared folder. Unfortunately it is
not ready for public display yet, and you will need a heavily patched
and LDAP-enabled Cyrus to use it... When I transform that tool to a
plugin for Squirrelmail, I will post an announcement.
