  I'm not sure what is causing this issue, but based on the fact we
  had a lot of issues with sessions in 1.2.9, could you try
  downloading the 1.2.10[cvs] code (see
  http://www.squirrelmail.org/download.php on how to get that), and
  upgrading to see if this fixes your issue.
