Ok...after digging and digging and then digging some more I've discovered what the problem is. It is indeed a PATH problem. However, on my Mandrake 8.2 server php-devel appears to install somewhat differently then it does on Mandrake 9.0. this causes a few problems for the 8.2 box. In order upgrade packages one must upgrade apache, MySQL, PHP, a ton of libraries and on and on...the list of dependencies was ridiculous. In short I just gave up. In anyone's informed opinion would be do any good to reinstall php on this machine to see if the PATH problem is resolved? No matter how I set the path in the php.ini file at the moment the results are the same. SM is unable to do what it's gotta do with DB.php. suggestions? -- Mark "Stupidity has no moral high ground.
