I just wanted to report back on the solution to my problem of mail not being sent from compose. I know a few others have had the problem, and possible this will help. I wnet back to conf.pl and saw that the server (menu 4 I think) server was set to sendmail. I use Postfix, but I thought it was tied with sim-link to send mail. I changed the setting to use SMTP, and adjusted the server name to correct one, and now mail goes through.
