This depends on how the passwords are stored on your system... There
are a couple of password plugins on the SquirrelMail site (if they
are back up) that can work with services such as MySQL. Check here
  for a couple of them:

Again this probably depends on how you have your system setup.
SquirrelMail itself actually has a filters plugin, but it only runs
when you login, and go to the inbox folder, or refresh the folder
list. Also the filter rules are only applied on INBOX. However,
there are a couple of plugins that work with services such as
procmail if you can use that.

There is not a dedicated plugin to get direct access to Hotmail, or
Yahoo mail (yet), but there is a pop3 fetch plugin as part of the
core plugins (comes with the SquirrelMail download). You can then
use that in conjunction with some special software from
sourceforge.net, somebody mentioned a piece of software that can
access hotmail via POP3 the other day, hotwayd I believe it was.
That acts as a communicator between POP3 and HTTP mail services such
as hotmail. Of course, if you are a paying user of Hotmail, you
  should have POP3 access anyway.
