It looks like vlogin did its job to me. Hmmm. You told me that setting debug=1 gives you this:

I am correct that the address vlogin creates is the same, right? For some reason it doesn't seem to be passing that same value to IMAP. Can you try cutting and pasting the username that you get from vlogin when debug=1, then turning debug off, then pasting that (full) username into the login...
