If you'd cut&pate the error above, your IMAP is checking the
'/home/local/ehimmel/Maidir' instead of '/home/local/ehimmel/Maildir/'.

I believe the "Maidir" does not exist. 

You have to fix this either in squirrelmail (conf.pl -> 3 -> 1 (Default
Folder Prefix)) or your IMAP Server (most likely to be something with
your IMAP server...).
